HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Redhawks from Pittsburgh claimed a 3-0 victory over the Hawks for Hamburg today in women's volleyball.
La Roche College improved to 6-14 overall and earned their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory (1-0) over Hilbert College who dropped to 0-4 in league play this afternoon.
The red and white used strong serving in the opening set to pull away fast for the 25-7 win before they held on for the second set win (25-20) as Hilbert rallied late. La Roche benefited from Hilbert's attacking errors and passing errors to grab the third set/match victory (25-13).
Sophomore
Torianna LeWand posted 11 digs and nine assists as well as a pair of service aces. Sophomore
Ashley Repine collected seven kills while two freshmen were credited with eight digs each,
Sierra McLaughlin and
Sara Trzepkowski.
Hilbert (1-15 overall) travels to Penn State Behrend Tuesday, October 3 for another AMCC match before they take an 11 day break from competition.
