Men's Basketball to Take on Penn State-Behrend in AMCC Game of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team returns to KOA Arena on Wednesday night for a matchup with Penn State-Behrend, in what has been selected as the AMCC Game of the Week.

The Panthers are 7-6 on the season, with a 1-1 record in AMCC play. After dropping their conference opener at LaRoche, the Panthers used a stifling defensive effort to take down Mount Aloysius 70-37 on the road. The 37 points allowed to the Mounties is the lowest the Panthers have allowed in a game in over two decades. Nathan Schneider registered a double-double in the win, finishing with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Phillip Wallace also finished with 14, while Gus Napoleon scored 10 points off the bench.

For the season, Schneider leads the AMCC with 24.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He is also 3rd in the conference in field goal percentage, making 58.3% of his attempts. Phillip Wallace is the only other Panther averaging double figures, as he adds 13.6 points per contest. Jeremy Rodriguez and Trey Oyler have been valuable sparks off the bench, adding 9.2 and 8.0 points per game respectively. Oyler, who is coming off of an injury that forced him to miss the first 10 games of the season, has made 5-9 from three in just 3 games back.

The Penn State-Behrend Lions are 6-7 on the season and 1-1 in the AMCC. They defeated Mount Aloysius 86-63 in their conference opener, but followed that up with a 70-53 loss to LaRoche over the weekend. Tommy DiRienzo has led the lions this season, averaging 13.9 points per game. He is one of the top free throw shooters in the conference, making 91.2% of his attempts from the charity stripe. Senior RJ Marsh also averages double figures this season, adding 10.4 points per game, while freshman Matthew McDonough contributes 9.9 points per game. MArsh leads the Lions rebounding effort at 7.4 per game, while Stefan Milinkovic grabs 5.5 per game.

The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in KOA Arena. Live video and statistic streams will be available from the Pitt-Bradford athletics website.
