Wells Handles The Mounties At Home

On Sunday afternoon the Mount Aloysius Mounties traveled to Wells College for an afternoon match-up.

This was a rescheduled game that was canceled earlier in the season due to weather. The Express had beaten Hilbert at home earlier in the week and looked to continue their success today.

In the first set, the Express came out a bit lethargic allowing the Mounties to build a 20-15 lead. The Express did not help themselves with multiple errors that lead to them dropping the first set to the Mounties 25-17.

The second set saw a team possessed as the Express lead the Mounties by a score of 20-8. Consecutive serves from Christian Hahn helped the Express over the top for this set as they won 25-13.

The mounties put up a fight in the third and fourth sets but the Express continued to build leads and limited their mistakes. The Express tallied 14 kills and both of the final two sets as the Mounties became visibly tired from the punishing offense of the Express. Wells College would win this one, 3-1.

There was a scheduled second game for the day, Mount Aloysius forfeit the win to Wells College.

Express Stat Leaders:

Cooper Colesante: 38 assists

Riley Mahoney: 16 kills
