The Wells College women's soccer team hosted Hilbert College in a non-conference game on Friday, Oct. 1.
The Express entered the second half in a scoreless tie as Wells goalkeeper Jennifer McCumber made eight first-half saves. The senior then stopped another nine in the second half and came within one save of recording a clean sheet.
Despite being outshot by 20, the Express was a shot away from pushing the game to overtime as the Hawks took a 1-0 victory.
Wells' best scoring chances came from Mackenzie Powers, Scarlett Lonsky and Antonia Falco. The three tied for the team-lead in shots for the Express.
The women's soccer team next travels SUNY Poly on Tuesday, Oct. 5 with a 7 p.m. start.
