Erie, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team had its season come to an end on Saturday afternoon, as they lost their second game in as many days to Medaille by a score of 6-1.

• After going down in order in the first, the Panthers fell behind the Mavericks in the bottom half of the inning, as Medaille took advantage of a pair of errors to take an early 1-0 lead. After starting pitcher Meghan Kapp retired the first batter of the inning, the next reached on an error and then took second on an error on a pickoff attempt. The runner scored on a single through the left side of the infield. Kapp was able to settle down and retire the next two batters to keep the deficit at one. 
• The Panthers once again were retired in 1-2-3 fashion n the second, but Kapp worked around a leadoff single and a walk to keep the Mavericks off the scoreboard.
• Pitt Bradford was able to tie things up in the 3rd. FAith McLaughlin dropped a leadoff single into right field and then was able to steal second base in the following at-bat. She moved to third on a Hannah Fisher ground ball to the right side and scored when Chloe Cordova hit a sacrifice fly to center.
• Kapp was able to get an unlikely shutdown inning in the 3rd. The first two batters of the inning reached on a single and a walk. Kapp was then able to retire three batters in a row to strand the runners on 1st and 3rd and get the Panthers back into the dugout.
• In the 4th, Daytona Wentzel hit a two-out single up the middle and moved to second on a throwing error on the play. She was unable to score, however, as the next batter KT Marx hit a hard grounder right at first base for the final out.
• Ashley Stein replaced Kapp in the bottom of the 4th. After a leadoff single she was able to record two straight outs on a sacrifice bunt and a grounder back to the circle, moving the runner to third base. Stein was able to get the next batter to hit a chopper back to her in the circle, but her throw to first was low and unable to be scooped y Fisher at first. This allowed the go-ahead run to score but also continued the inning. From there, the Mavericks exploded. They used a walk, back-to-back doubles, and a single to score four more times and take a 6-1 lead into the 5th.
• Pitt-Bradford put two runners on in the fifth on singles from McLaughlin and Kindra Wessels, but another grounder to first base ended the inning. Wessels moved to pitcher to start the 5th and worked around a leadoff single to put up a zero in the inning. 
• In the 6th, Lexi Peters hit a one-out single to left but was erased on an inning-ending 6-4-3 double play. Wessels answered in the bottom half, retiring the side in order to send the game to its final inning.
• McLaughlin was able to draw a one-out walk for the Panthers in the 7th, but back-to-back groundouts brought the game to a close. 

Ashley Stein (5-8) picked up the loss. She was tagged for 5 unearned runs in her only inning of work. The starter, Meghan Kapp allowed one unearned run in 3.0 innings pitched. Kindra Wessels spun the final two innings for Pitt-Bradford, allowing just one single while striking out two batters. Offensively, Faith McLaughlin picked up two of the Panthers' five hits. She also scored Pitt-Bradford's only run and drew a walk. Lexi Peters, Daytona Wentzel and Kindra Wessels all picked up one hit.

Lexi Peters and KT Marx are the Panthers' representatives for the All-Tournament Team. Peters went 5 for 11 in the three games, scoring one run and driving in two. Marx caught all 21 innings over two days for the Panthers, leading a pitching staff to a 2.66 ERA in the tournament. 

The Panthers' season finishes with a 12-24 record, with a 7-8 mark in AMCC Play. They finish the post-season tournament in 4th place.
