Men's Volleyball Splits At Potsdam Tri-Match

Wells College men's volleyball traveled up north on Sunday for a tri-match at SUNY Potsdam with Lesley College.

The first match against Lesley saw the Express play their best match of the season. Wells College swept Lesley in three straight sets securing their third win of the season. The Express were bolstered by the 17 service aces they had as a team which is tied for third all-time in Wells College. Connor Garvey lead the team in kills with 12 followed by Mason Moon with 8. Moon also had 18 assists.

Up next was a familiar foe, the SUNY Potsdam Bears. Earlier this season, Potsdam swept the Express at home in three straight sets. The Bears grabbed a 11-6 lead in the first set but Connor Garvey stopped the run with a kill to give the Express back the serve. Despite the best efforts of Wells, they could not keep the Bears at bay and fell 25-13. The Bears grabbed a 9-2 lead to start the second set ended only by their own error. When they started to go on another small run Confidence Burrowes powered a kill for the Express. Billy McCrae and Connor Gravey both went on small runs with their serves but the host, Potsdam, won the second set 25-15. Fatigue caught up with Wells College playing their 6th set of the day, Mason Moon had a nice run of serves but 10 errors on the side of the Express helped SUNY Potsdam secure a victory in three straight sets.

Men's Volleyball will travel to Wilkes tomorrow night for a 7 PM game.
