BRADFORD, Pa. – In a battle against the AMCC league leaders, the Hawks had their backs against the wall by half time and had a tough time keeping the Panthers out of the box the second half. Pitt-Bradford coasted to a 7-0 victory over Hilbert College to close out the regular season schedule October 28.  Bradford's Melissa Smith tallied her fourth hat-trick of the season to post nine points in victory.

Grace Adams and Erin Smith shared time between the pipes with each facing a barrage of shots from Bradford.  Adams patrolled the first forty-five minutes and made six saves while Smith covered the goal mouth the second period and picked up five saves.  Both keepers faced 11 shots each half.

Sara Wagner was the only Hawk with a shot on goal while Courtney Vaccaro was credited with the only other Hilbert shot.

In a span of two and a half minutes, beginning at 29:09, Melissa Smith stole the show.  The sophomore striker netted twice, less than sixty seconds apart, and then assisted on the Panther's third score forty seconds later.  After that three-goal explosion both teams played even as they approached intermission.

Mirroring the first half, the hosts hit two quick scores in the 58th and 59th minute to stretch their lead to 5-0.  Smith knocked in her fourth goal of the day in the 78th minute and Maggie Boehler tallied her second score late the day.

The women's soccer team completed their 2014 season with a 4-11-1 overall and 1-7-1 league records.  Half of their losses this season (six) were by a one-goal deficit.  The team will close out this week with practices and will host their annual Halloween practice October 31.
