Big run lifts Hawks

The Alfred State men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead but Hilbert bounced back and used a big run to take control of the contest en route to a 92-66 AMCC victory on Wednesday evening.

The Pioneers started fast and led 9-4 just under three minutes into the game. Hilbert responded and grabbed the lead and never looked back. They led 50-26 at the break. ASC and Hilbert played even in the 2nd half with the Hawk holding a slight 42-40 advantage.

Paris Jamison (Brooklyn, NY/East Side) was 8 for 11 from the field and 7 for 7 from the foul line and led the Pioneers with 24 points. Cody Schneider (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley) finished with 15 points, Isaiah Kostyal-Larrier (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) connected on three 3-pointers and netted 15 off the bench, and Dylan Perry (Kingston, NY/Kingston) finished with 12.

The Pioneers shot 38.7% from the floor and was 6 for 27 from beyond the three-point arc. 

Four Hawks finished in double figures led by Quaran Briggs. Briggs finished with 25 points while Edward Perez added 21. Nevada Eldridge chipped in 16 points and eight boards.

Alfred State is completes their three game roadtrip on Saturday when they take on LaRoche at 2 p.m.
