Redhawk's Collect Second Shutout of the Season Against Hilbert

CRESSON, Pa. - The women's volleyball team snapped a nine game losing streak in their second match of the Mt. Aloysius tournament this afternoon in dominating fashion. The Redhawks took down conference opponent Hilbert College in straight sets to pick up their second shutout of the season. Their first shutout came all the way back on August 31st against Waynesburg. The Redhawks won today by a combined set of 75-46. The 29 point margin of victory is La Roche's largest this season.

LEADING THE ATTACK: Senior middle hitter Janet Aland led the team with 9 kills on the day. It's the second most she has had in a single match this season. Aland now totals 88 kills on the year, tied for second most on the team.

SET EM' UP: Senior setter Bailey McDonald led the La Roche with 11 assists. She currently leads the team with 277 total assists on the season (4.62 assists/match). In 2018, she had 290 assists all year (3.32 assists/match). 

BACK ROW PLAY: Senior setter Erin Connor was the only Redhawk to finish in double-digit dig figures with 14. Connor leads the team with 239 digs on the season, that's a 100 more than the next player and good enough for 4th overall in the conference.

AT THE NET: Senior middle hitter Ingrid Spear recorded another two solo blocks to lead the squad. She ranks first in the AMCC in solo blocks with 24, that's eight more than the next player in the conference. Spear also contributed 6 kills on an efficient .385 hitting percentage.

NEXT UP: Women's volleyball heads back to Cresson, PA to take on the Mt. Aloysius Mavericks in a Pink Out game on Wednesday October 2nd beginning at 7:00 PM
