TONAWANDA, N.Y. – Hilbert College earned an AMCC series sweep against La Roche College this afternoon in women's softball. 

The Hawks (7-10) have now won three of their last four games and improved to 3-5 in league play.

Morgan McNeill collected two stolen bases, scored two runs and went 3 for 6 at the plate over the course of the day at Kenmore West High School.

GAME ONE

Hilbert held a 2-run lead through 3 innings and then stretched it to 4-1 by the top of the 6th.  The Redhawks added one run in the sixth but trailed 4-2 by the middle of the 7th in the loss.

Hannah Prenoveau went 3 for 4 with 2RBI in the victory and  McNeill finished with two hits, one run and a stolen base.

Prenoveau's double to center field sent two runs home and lifted Hilbert early.

Emma McNamara stole home as McNeill was stealing 2nd for the third Hilbert run and Gabriella Bongiorno's single knocked home McNeill to complete the Hawks scoring.



GAME TWO

Marisa McIntyre, after closing the first game with a win, went the full seven innings in the night cap for her 7th win of the season.  She fanned five, walked six, battled through eight hits with only one run scored.

Hilbert jumped out with another 2-run lead after the first inning.

While McNeill was stealing second base again, Prenoveau stole home.  Then, after she moved to 3rd base, McNeill scored Hilbert's final run again thanks to a La Roche infield error.



The Hawks hope to play their rescheduled DH at Alfred State Friday, April 12 before they return to Hamburg for their AMCC series against Franciscan April 13.
