Strong Second Half Leads To Victory Over Red Hawks

Allison Park, PA- The Alfred State men's basketball team picks up a dominate win over La Roche 84-68, as four players score 15 or more points. The Pioneers move to 3-5 on the season and 1-1 against conference foes.

Michael Miller was the leading scorer as he tallied 20 points on 6-8 shooting behind the arch. Cody Schneider and Paris Jamison both added 17 points each, while Dylan Perry put up 15 points.

 The Pioneers started the game with an 8-0 run. Following a Red Hawks bucket the Pioneers hit three straight threes to take a 17-5 lead. Jamison would then add a layup before Miller knocked down another three. From there, La Roche made a run to cut the Alfred State lead down to three before the halftime break 41-38.

The Pios would outscore the Red Hawks in the second half 43-30. After a back and forth start to the half, back-to-back layups from Jamison and Jacob Gonzalez gave ASC the 63-53 lead. La Roche fought back to cut the lead down to 65-64 to force a Jack Dignan timeout. Following the timeout Miller knocked down a three. Then Schnieder got a layup and a dunk to make it an eight-point game. Jamison would make it a 10-point lead with a layup, 74-64. The Pioneers would finish the game on a 10-4 run to secure the win.
