HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team hosted their home-opener tonight and suffered a 3-0 defeat to Houghton College (4-1) who now riding a 3-game win streak. 

The Hawks rallied in each set but fell short dropping a straight-set match (25-18 , 25-15 , 25-11) as they continue to look for their first victory.

Ashley Repine was the solo Hilbert player to finish with a positive hitting percentage (.167) as she collected six kills off 18 attempts.   The Middle Blocker also picked up one solo block and two block assists.

Freshman Sara Trzepkowski assisted on nine of Hilbert's 12 team kills and sophomore Outside Hitter Torianna LeWand was once again one-dig shy of posting double-digits in digs (9).   Freshman Rachel Hare was credited with three service aces.

Hilbert (0-4) returns to action this weekend when they travel west to Ohio to participate in the 19th Annual Marcia French Memorial Invitational which is co-hosted by Baldwin Wallace and Case Western Reserve on September 8 and 9.

The Hawks will face Hiram College September 8 at Case Western Reserve 5:30pm) and then travel to Baldwin Wallace Saturday to battle the hosts and Mount Union.  Fans can stay connected to all the results, live video/stats link by following this (LINK).
