HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hilbert took control of the game early, and after Ashley Repine scored in the lane, the Hawks held their first double digit lead with 1:39 left in the first quarter.
  • Emma Fredo connected from downtown to lift Hilbert by 12 points (24-12) before the start of the second quarter.
  • After the Pioneers made it a 10-point game again, the Hawks went back up by 10-or-more points nine different times, taking a 38-30 lead into the locker room at half time.
  • Only once in the third period did A-State pull within nine points, 45-36 (at 5:55).  But Gawlak drained a 3-pointer which started another Hilbert run.
  • By the start of the 4th quarter, the Hawks held a 19-point lead and played loose the last 10-minutes of the game.

GAME NOTES
  • Eight of the nine Hawks were credited with at least one assist tonight as the team collected 18 during the 40-minute contest.
  • Hilbert forced 15 Pioneer turnovers and turned those gifts into 20 points.  The Hawks also built a 34-18 advantage in points in the paint.
  • With only nine fouls called against the Hawks, A-State went to the foul line 10 times, earning seven free points;  Hilbert picked-up 17 additional points from the foul line.
  • The Hawks made 28-of-65 field goal attempts (.431) and held the Pioneers to a 33.3-percent (19-of-57) night from the floor.
  • Demi Battin (4 points) and Emma Fredo (5 points, four rebounds, two assists) filled the rest of the stat sheet for Hilbert.
  • Jordyn Pettit earned the game's only double-double with matching dimes in scoring and rebounding.
