McCANDLESS, Pa. - La Roche women's basketball competes in their conference-high fifth AMCC Game of the Week this season at Pitt Greensburg on Wednesday, February 19th. The Redhawks defeated the Bobcats at home earlier this season on December 21st in the AMCC GOTW in overtime, 73-63. Dasja Anderson scored a layup as time expired at the end of regulation before LRU would outscore UPG 12-2 in overtime. Tip-off for tomorrow night's game is set for 8:00 p.m.

La Roche (OVR: 16-6, AMCC: 16-2)

Last Time Out: The Redhawks were defeated for just the second time in conference play this season last Saturday at Hilbert, 70-63. The conference juggernauts played an extremely close game which saw 13 ties and 12 lead changes. The Hawks went off for an 11-2 run in the final five minutes of the contest to pull away. Dasja Anderson finished with team-high's in points (18) and rebounds (11), picking up her second double-double of the season. As a unit, the Redhawks shot 35.5% (22-62) from the field, their worst shooting percentage in nine games. La Roche especially struggled from three-point range, where they knocked down just 4 of 21 (19%) attempts, their third worst percentage from deep in a game this season.

  • Despite falling to 16-2 in conference play at Hilbert last Saturday, La Roche still holds the number one spot in the league standings, a full game ahead of the Hawks (15-3).
  • The Redhawks can lock in the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament and the regular season conference title by winning out their last two games against current No. 3 seed Pitt Greensburg and Alfred State.
  • Head Coach Kamela Gissendanner has won the regular season conference title in each of her previous six seasons at La Roche (2013-2017, 2019­).
