Softball: Raiders fall to Hawks in a 7-4 loss, 7-4.

WHAT HAPPENED 

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd inning.  It started with Junior, Casey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) got to first base off a bunt. Then senior Mikayla Ramsdell (Salem, N.H.) doubled to right field, sending Casey Smith to home plate.  Greenleaf also doubled to left field sending Ramsdell home. 

In the bottom of the fourth freshman Nicole Capra (Lowell, Mass.) reached first on an error and stole second while Mainville was at bat.  Freshman Sarah McCluskey singled to right field and Capra advanced to third. Then McCluskey stole second with Smith at bat.  Smith winded up singling up the middle for an RBI sending Capra home and CcCluskey advanced to third. The score was then 3-2 in favor of the Raiders. 

The Raiders scoring halted until the bottom of the seventh.  Freshman Katerina St. Angelo (Johnston, R.I.) doubled to center field, freshman Micayla Bourski (Pawtucket, R.I.) pinch ran. Sophomore Morgan Pratt lied out to right and Bourski advanced to third. Sophomore Katie Welch (Wilmington, Mass.) walked and Junior Tayla Legrand (Tewksbury, Mass.) singled through the right side sending Bourski home and Welch to second. Unfortunately McCluskey and Smith both struck out, ending the game at 7-4. 

KEY STATS (Game 2)

• The Raiders earned 5 RBI's off of 9 hits. 
• Pitcher Sydney Greeno (Shirley, Mass.) had 5 strikeouts and sophmore Kellie Kennedy threw 1. 
• Capra and McCluskey walked away a stolen base.
