NEW JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team defeated Grove City 3-1 in the first round of the 2022 ECAC Championships hosted by New Jersey City. The Lions will face Cabrini in the semifinals on Sunday.

* The Lions avenged a five-set loss earlier this season to the Wolverines by winning in extra points in the three sets
* Behrend won the first two sets and erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth to keep its season alive

* Sara Novak (Lower Burrell, PA/Burrell) also had five services aces, including two in her eight serves to close out the match in the fourth set
* Phillips was instrumental in getting the final points in the first and third set, while Breana Reynolds (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) knocked down the kill for the 26th point in the second
