ASC Takedown Cobleskill In Rout

Alfred, NY- Erin Drewiega notches a brace as the Pioneers tally their first win of the season in a rout over SUNY Cobleskill 8-2. Seven different players netted a goal.

Drewiega (Springville, NY) tallied two goals and assist, while both Victoria Stuck (Bolivar, NY) and Karlee Hargather (Hilton, NY) ended the game with a goal and two assists each. McKinlee Harris (Friendship, NY), Lauren Bondgren (Avon, NY), Stella Carretto (Canisteo, NY), and Ava Bruehwiler (Spencer, NY) all found the back of the net as well. Sierra Schofield (Delran, NJ) had a good day in goal coming away with two saves.

ASC had their offense going early and often, with Drewiega putting in her first goal of the game in the ninth minute, off a pass from Ella Ingraham (Hamburg, NY) . Later in the first half, the Pioneers got the ball in a dangerous position in the 40th minute. Stuck was able to get a shot off that was saved by Cobleskill, but Hargather was in the right place at the right time. Hargather was able to get a boot on the ball off the ricochet from the save, to gave ASC the 2-0 lead going into the halftime break.

 In the second half, ACS continued to showcase their offense netting six more goals. Harris scored the first goal of the half off a pass from Hargather. A few minutes later, Drewiega netted her second goal of the game for the 4-0 lead. Cobleskill answered with a goal a few seconds later.

After some midfield action, Alfred State would put in back-to-back goals to extend their lead to 6-1. Stuck scored the goal, and Bondgren netted the second goal.

Later in the 84th minute, Carretto notched her goal off a pass from Kendall Artlip. Then after a Cobleskill goal, Bruehwiler netted a last second goal off a pass Allison Lundmark (Lakewood, NY) for the 8-2 lead.

The Pioneers will be back in action on September 13th at 7 pm against Elmira at Pioneer Stadium.
