HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hilbert outscored the Lions in the first three quarters while allowing Altoona to make a mini-rally in the fourth session.
  • Corts was the first on the scoreboard with a long-distance dial up less the 45-seconds into the game.
  • Altoona knotted the game twice before they took their first and only lead in the game at 4:16.
  • The Lions extended their control to four points (11-7) two minutes later only to witness a Hilbert rally.
  • Corts and Gawlak each drilled from deep and Kisner and Gawlak shared a 2-for-4 performance from the charity stripe before the start of the second quarter with Hilbert on top 15-11.
  • Hilbert stretched the margin to double digits at 7:42 when Repine made a pair from 15-feet out, and continued to build to 16 points on three different trips.
  • After the Lions trimmed the margin back to 10, Repine and Corts took turns beginning at 6:07 in the third quarter.  Two minutes later, Hilbert had manufactured an 8-0 run, a 59-41 lead and didn't stop there; they built a 19 point separation by the start of the final session.
  • Both teams traded buckets for the most part in the last ten minutes until Schroeder knocked in a pair at the foul line with :08 for a 20-point margin.
GAME NOTES
  • The Hawks had their best shooting performance in the third quarter when they hit 10-of-15 from the floor and made 3-of-5 beyond the arc.  They closed the game with a 46.6-percent performance from the field, yet sank only 21-of-30 at the foul line.
  • Hilbert dominated the glass building a 47-33 advantage.
