PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Hilbert College men's soccer team continued to search for their offense as the Hawks fell to La Roche College 3-0 today in the opening match of their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule.

The Redhawks improved to 4-5 after the win and dropped Hilbert to 1-6 overall.

The hosts challenged the Hawks' defensive core the entire contest. La Roche was credited with 16 shots each half and held a 32 to 14 advantage over Hilbert.

La Roche's goalie collected four saves on the day while Hilbert's Ryan Valentine finished with nine saves after giving up three markers.

La Roche found the back of the net in the 38thminute and carried that lead through half time. Hilbert held the Redhawks in check until when they scored on a break-away shot in the 68thminute. And just seven minutes later, after a foul was called on the Hawks, La Roche scored a PK goal to close out the day.

Garrett Rehner took four shots with only one on frame to lead the Hawks' offense. Jonathan Davison, Travis Hicks and Connor McAllister were credited with multi-shot attempts.

Hilbert returns to action this Tuesday at Penn State Behrend's turf field. The men's game starts at 5pm and the women will play at 7:30 pm.
