Men's Lacrosse Tumbles Against Thiel

EDEN, N.Y. - The Hilbert College men's lacrosse team suffered their first loss at home, falling to Thiel College in a 13-6 final. 

Elijah Ryan, who faced 48 Tomcat shots, finished with 18 saves for Hilbert who trailed Thiel 4-2 at intermission.

Edward Mathias scored both of the Hawks' first half goals and added his third point six minutes into the third quarter.  

Ryan Spath scored his first goal of the season in the third session and Anthony Cappola found the back of the net with 49-seconds left in the non-conference game.

Marc O'Neill and Joshua Maloney led Hilbert with four ground balls each and Maloney won six of the game's 23 face-offs.

The Hawks (1-2) will hit the road for a pair of away games this coming week.  They will face La Roche College March 23 in Pittsburgh and then Alfred University March 27 (4pm) before they return to Eden High School for their first NEAC game against Wells College April 3.
