HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team put on a good show tonight as the Hawks earned the team's first two set victories, but Cazenovia College stormed out of the gate in the final deciding set to claim their first match win of the season.
Hilbert, trailing 2-0 (25-22, 25-16) early in the match, scored a 25-21 third set win.
Ashley Repine carried the Hawks to victory with multiple kills down the stretch as Cazenovia was not defending well at the net.
The Hawks then outlasted the Wildcats in the fourth to post a 28-26 victory and forced the shortened final set of the match. Repine did her damage in the middle while
Torianna LeWand attacked from the back row which kept the Wildcats off balance.
After winning the first point of the 5th set off a Block Assist at the net, Hilbert's offense went stale and Cazenovia coasted to a 15-4 win. The Wildcats scored points from the service line, and from uncontested kills in the final game for the win.

Repine reached double digits earning 13 kills, three blocks and nine digs.
Torianna LeWand was credited with four service aces, three blocks, five kills and led the Hawks with 15 digs.
Sara Trzekowski quarterbacked the Hawks with 15 of the team's 21 assists.
Cazenovia scored 22 of their team's 58 points off service aces.
Hilbert hits the road this weekend and heads to Bradford, PA for the team's first AMCC competition. The Hawks will face Mt. Aloysius (1pm) and La Roche (3:30 pm) in a pair of league games played at Pitt-Bradford.
