HOUGHTON, N.Y. – By the time sophomore Brandon Bundschuh scored his first career goal tonight, the Highlanders from Houghton had already built a 5-0 lead over Hilbert in men's soccer.

The Hawks surrendered one more goal before the final horn to drop a 6-1 non-conference loss under the lights of Burke Field.

The Highlanders controlled the pace, out-shooting Hilbert 20-2 while holding a 6-0 advantage in corners during the match.

Brandon Bundschuh connected on the Hawks' first penalty kick of the season in the 74^th minute.

Senior Ryan Valentine was credited with seven saves in his fourth start of the season.

Senior Travis Hicks posted the only other Hilbert shot during the road contest.

Hilbert now heads into the portion of their schedule that really matters.  The Hawks open their AMCC league slate with a 1pm game at Franciscan University September 23. 
Because of the yearly, rotating game schedule, the men's teams will kick-off first during 2017 AMCC season.
