(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted Mount Aloysius College on Tuesday, September 28 for its last contest before University Athletic Association (UAA) play begins. The Tartans rallied in the second half to tie the score and battled for the 1-1 tie after 110 minutes of action.

The Mounties took the lead in the 33rd minute when substitute Juan Camacho blasted a shot to the upper left corner that was just out of the reach of senior Ethan Kalis (Riverwoods, Ill. / Adlai E. Stevenson) who dove vertically in an attempt to tip it away.

The Tartans had six shots in the first period with two on goal while Kalis made one save in the half.

Eight minutes into the second half, sophomore William Rabon (Grand Rapids, Mich. / International Academy) tied the score with his second goal of the season. The offensive midfielder won a ball in the center of the field and quickly tipped it to graduate student Jordi Long (Washington, D.C. / Montgomery Blair) on the move forward. Rabon continued with the play and Long found him inside the 18-yard box where the sophomore ran between two defenders to the left post and finished off a left-footed shot between the post and the keeper.

For the second half, the Tartans put another three shots on goal that were stopped by Luke Priestly resulting in the game going to overtime.

The Tartans had one shot on goal for the final 20 minutes while the defense blocked two attempts by the Mounties.

Next up for the Tartans is Brandeis University who visits Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 2 for a 1:30 p.m. contest.
