Lions Suffer First AMCC Loss at Behrend

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis was handed its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss of the season on Sunday afternoon, when it fell 7-2 to Penn State Behrend at the Westwood Racquet Club.

Behrend (10-5, 3-0 AMCC) swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead heading into the singles portion of the match, where they proceeded to win four out of six to clinch a five-point match win.

Penn State Altoona (3-2, 3-1 AMCC) picked up points with hard-fought wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches. In No. 5, Jonathan D'Arcy (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) triumphed 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 to record his team-leading fifth singles win of the season. In the No. 6 slot, Logan Kyle (Reedsville, PA/Mifflin County) won by a 6-2, 2-6, 10-6 decision.

Lions tennis returns to action on the evening of Friday, March 30, when they will travel to Washington, Pa. to take on non-conference opponent Washington & Jefferson College for a 6:00 p.m. match.
