Volleyball Suffers Loss to Penn St. Altoona

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche volleyball team fell to Penn St. Altoona in a conference match Wednesday evening, three sets to none (25-11, 25-17, 26-24). The Redhawks move to 5-13 and 2-2 in conference while the Lions improve to 9-4 (2-2).

Neither team had an attacker with 10+ kills. Sophomore middle hitter Rory McCune (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) recorded a team-high 7 kills and 4 blocks. McCune has notched 14 kills in her last two games, the most she's had in a two-game span this season.

Sophomore defensive specialist Mackenzie Kerkan (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) stepped in as the libero in the final two sets. She recorded a team-high 16 digs. Junior setter Cassidy Rossi (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) posted a team-high 14 assists.

As a unit, LRU had 24 kills and .065 kill percentage and PSA had 40 kills and .191 kill percentage.
