Corts and Repine were named to the 2020 AMCC All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ashley Repine picked the Redhawks pocket on their first attack, fed  Gawlak into transition then sprinted down the floor and was the first one with her hands on a rebound.  That was a sign she was ready to play for another championship.
  • Play was smart and effective in the first five minutes and Repine (4) was a huge factor in limiting the Redhawks on the glass.
  • Both teams played through five lead changes until Hilbert went on a 6-point run, built an 11-6 margin at 5:10.
  • The Redhawks knotted the game off a deep shot in corner and took a 13-11 lead at 2:41, yet Hilbert didn't get fazed after giving up the lead.
  • The Hawks forced three more ties, but turned the ball over on their last offensive possession.  La Roche took a 21-17 lead into the second session.
  • The Redhawks extended their lead at the start of the second quarter to seven (24-17) before the Hawks fed Repine in the paint for four straight points making it a one possession game.
  • Rather than trading hoops, La Roche went on a 5-0 run, took a 31-23 lead and forced a Hilbert timeout at 5:54.
  • After overplaying Hilbert high dribble dish at the wing, they picked Hilbert's pocket for their ninth turnover and went the distance for two in the paint establishing their first double digit lead.
  • Corts drilled two at the foul line and Emma Fredo found space in the lane matching La Roche's scores which kept it a 10-point game.
  • Hilbert continued to feed Repine in the paint and she sliced the margin back to six points (29-35 with over five minutes to go.
  • After three minutes of scoreless action, both teams matched efforts with buckets in the paint before  Gawlak hit a fastbreak, short jumper pulling Hilbert within four.
  • The Redhawks made another terrific post move stretching the margin at intermission (39-33).
  • Both teams shot the ball well in the first half but due to Hilbert's 11 turnovers by the break, La Roche attempted 11 more shots and made 17-of-32 (.531).  Hilbert's 13-of-21 (.619) field goal attempts were strikes from the paint (22 points) since they made 7-of-8 at the charity stripe.
  • Corts opened the second half with seven straight scores, matching La Roche's effort until the Redhawks hit a desperation three before a shot clock violation could be called.
  • After they knocked down their fourth  3-pointer in the first seven minutes, La Roche created a 14-point spread (41-55) in the third quarter.
  • Hilbert chipped away at the score and went on a 15-4 run to start the final quarter trailing 56-59.
  • Gawlak, Repine and Ashley Schroeder added at least four points each in that run.
  • The Redhawks outscored Hilbert 29-13 in the 4th  quarter earning the victory.  Their three consecutive makes from downtown killed Hilbert's momentum.
  • They also went 12-for-16 from the foul line down the stretch to pull out the win.

GAME NOTES
  • Hilbert made only 1-of-12 3-point shots while the Redhawks (9-of-21) pulled away to win the game beyond the arc in the 4th quarter.
