Panthers Return to KOA Arena to Take on Highlanders

Bradford, Pa -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's volleyball team will look to stay undefeated on their home court on Tuesday as they will host Houghton University.

The Panthers had a tough weekend at the Sommer Center Spiketacular, hosted by Bluffton University. The Panthers lost a thrilling 5-set match to the hosts on Friday night, before dropping two matches in straight sets to Baldwin Wallace and Bethany on Saturday. Olivia Reese was named to the All-Tournament team as she totaled 36 kills, 11 digs, and 4 half blocks.

For the season, Reese has led the Panther attack as she has 75 kills on the season, the second most in the AMCC. Freshmen Darby Deniston, Ruby Smith, and Jenna Louser have stepped right into important roles for the PAntehrs, as they have 47, 34, and 30 kills respectively. Tabitha Walker is currently 3rd in the AMCC in assists as she has tallied 187 assists through 8 matches. She also has 65 digs, 5 blocks, and 12 kills. Kayla Maslowski has served as the primary libero for Pitt-Bradford, picking up 116 digs, leading the AMCC in the category.

The Houghton Highlanders are 2-3 so far this season, picking up two wins against AMCC opponents after dropping their first three. They defeated Hilbert and Alfred State in straight sets last week. The Highlanders have used a balanced attack this season as 5 players have recorded more than 20 kills. They are led by Julie Immel, who has 35. Haley Unverdorben serves as Houghton's primary setter, tallying 110 assists through 5 matches. Rebekah Clark and Alyssa Lyon have shared the defensive duties this season, collecting 57 and 42 digs.

The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in KOA Arena.
