Lions Downed 2-0 by Franciscan

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's soccer was blanked 2-0 by Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Franciscan University on Tuesday evening at Spring Run Stadium.

The Barons (7-1-2, 2-0-1 AMCC) got goals from Ian Baldau and Nick Miller to hand Penn State Altoona (4-7-1, 2-1 AMCC) its first conference loss of the season.

Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) tied his season-high for saves, making 12 stops between the pipes for the Lions. That total is tied for the third-most saves in a game by a Penn State Altoona goalkeeper in program history.

Baldau put Franciscan on the board at 18:09, heading Nick Miller's corner kick past the keeper from five yards out to make it 1-0. The Barons scored their second goal of the game early in the second half on a penalty shot goal by Miller at 49:02.

Franciscan finished the night with statistical advantages over Penn State Altoona in shots attempted (28-7), shots on goal (14-5), and corner kicks (7-2).
