AURORA, N.Y. -
Sebastian Flewellyn and
Brandon Bundschuh hooked-up for the Hawks' solo goal in Hilbert College's 9-1 defeat at Wells College in men's soccer this afternoon.
Hilbert found the back of the net in the 68th minute in the Hawks' second corner kick of the day.
"Wells (2-3) was a very technical team and well-skilled with the ball," said coach
Brandon Butts. "Our guys fought through nagging injuries and again numbers came back to hurt us. But I am proud of our guys for their efforts today."
Freshman
Sebastian Flewellyn served a high ball to the box and
Brandon Bundschuh's elevation header beat the Express keeper for the final goal of the game.
Sophomore
Tucker Reynolds took the loss in goal giving up six 1st half scores and posting five saves before shifting to a field player after intermission. Freshman
Evan Robillard closed the second stanza in goal with three scores tabbed against him.
Bundschuh was credited with four shots, three on goal.
Wells outshot the Hawks (22-6) and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Hawks (0-3) will host their home opener this week when they welcome Thiel College Wednesday, September 12. Both the Hilbert men and women will be home that afternoon so show your Hawks Pride with the 3:00 pm (W) adn 5:15 pm (M) games at the Varsity Field.
