Bobcats Clawed the Hawks In Baseball

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Deep hitting by Pitt.-Greensburg did damage against Hilbert College today as the Hawks fell twice to the Bobcats, 6-3 and 8-4 in AMCC baseball action.

Greensburg dinged three balls over the fence and collected a total of eight runs in their sweep this afternoon.

Bradley Perrin and Ryan Bonafede were the only two Hawks to stretch their hits to doubles while Dalton Reynolds posted 3 RBIs in the series against the Bobcats.

GAME 1

Eric Flores single to left center and lifted Hilbert to a 1-0 lead at the start of the game.  Greensburg responded with a 5-run bottom half rally fueled by a bases-loaded home run.  Reynolds hit a sac fly to score Flores before Perrin doubled to right field scoring Kevin Moore in the fourth inning slicing the score 5-3.  Another long-ball to left field gave Greensburg the win, 6-3.

Tristan Aldinger closed four innings with four hits, five earned runs and struck out two.

Ian Moran went 3-for-4 and scored Hilbert's first run of the game.

GAME 2

Five different Hawks shared a hit each while Greensburg exploded with 11 hits in the game.

Reynolds went 1-for-2 with his one hit to right center scoring Hilbert's first two runs in the top of the 3rd. Flores sprinted home for the third run in that inning when the Bobcat catcher made a throwing error back to the mound and Hilbert held a 3-1 lead.

Greensburg hit a single RBI which was followed by a 3RBI homerun in the third lifting the hosts, 5-3.

Taylor Haug's single scored Moran which finished the Hawks offensive production in the seventh inning.

Bonafede poked a double and Reynolds was credited with a stolen base in the night cap.

Kevin Moore was tagged with his first loss on the mound covering 4.1 innings with nine hits, five earned runs while striking out four.

Hilbert (8-23, 1-15) closed out their AMCC league schedule today and have one final double header left to host.  The Hawks will honor their seniors prior to the May 2 non-conference make-up game against Keuka College.
