Men’s Tennis Downed 7-2 by Behrend

ERIE, Pa. – In its final Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match of the regular season on Saturday, the Penn State Altoona men's tennis team was dealt a 7-2 loss by Penn State Behrend at Westwood Racquet Club.

Behrend (2-3, 2-2 AMCC) won the first two doubles matches and the first five singles matches to pick up the five-point match victory.

Penn State Altoona (2-2, 2-2 AMCC) picked up a point in the No. 3 doubles match, where the duo of Zachary Guasto (Sound Beach, NY/Miller Place)/Jake Irwin (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) prevailed 8-4. The Lions' other point came in the No. 6 singles match, where Kirk Eichenlaub (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) played to a 6-2, 6-0 win.

Guasto and Irwin's doubles win is their first together this season, while Eichenlaub's singles win is his team-leading fourth and keeps him undefeated this spring with a perfect 4-0 record.

Penn State Altoona men's tennis will wrap up its regular season schedule on Wednesday, April 14, when the Lions will host non-conference opponent Lancaster Bible College for a match starting at 4:00 p.m.
