CRESSON, PA - This afternoon the Women's Volleyball team of La Roche University traveled to Mount Aloysius, to compete in a tri-match featuring the Mounties, and the Defenders of Clark Summit.

La Roche vs Clark Summit

• The Redhawks swept all three matches in a row

  • Set One (25-10)

  • Set Two (25-15)

  • Set Three (25-9)

• Kalli Grine and Becky Stephen each recorded 6 kills; leading the team 

• Madison Johnson had an incredible contest leading in both assists and service aces

  • 14 assists

  • 8 services aces

• The Redhawks never lost a lead, and only tied the point once in the third set

La Roche vs Mount Aloysius

• The Mounties and the Redhawks are conference rivals; this was their first matchup before conference play and the first time the team has met this season

• All 5 sets were played and a deciding 5th set to 15 points instead of 25 was required

  • Set One - 25-22, Mounties

  • Set Two - 25-15, Redhawks

  • Set Three - 25-15, Mounties

  • Set Four - 25-20, Redhawks 

  • Set Five - 15-13, Redhawks

• Lauren Tomasko "killed" the game in kills with 17 across all five sets

  • Bethany Nulph and Kalli Grine were closely behind her each with 10 kills

• Sydney Herzer led the La Roche defense and it shows

  • The 5th year racked up 35 digs across all 5 sets

• Cassidy Rossi contributed 32 to assists to La Roche's nail-biting win

  • Madison Johnson contributed 13 assists and 16 digs

• Quinn Hughes totaled 7 block assists

  • Rory McCune recorded 2 solo blocks, and 5 block assists
