Redhawks Win Five Set Thriller at UPG

GREENSBURG, Pa. - Tuesday evening, La Roche volleyball defeated Pitt Greensburg on the road in a non-conference match, 3-2. After trailing two sets to one, the Redhawks rallied to win the last two sets and the match.

LRU started their comeback with a convincing 25-11 win in the fourth set, one of their largest margin of victories in a set this season. The Redhawks capped off the comeback with a 17-15 win in the fifth set.

LRUVB is now 4-10 overall and 1-0 in conference play while UPG is now 1-12.

Senior outside hitter Bethany Nulph (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) recorded a match and career-high 18 kills and a .250 hit percentage. Nulph has notched 10 or more kills in three of her last four matches and four of her last six. She also picked up her third double-double of the season with 14 digs.

Junior setter Cassidy Rossi (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) had a team and career-high 24 assists and 14 digs, her team-high seventh double-double of the season. Rossi has posted 20 or more assists in three matches this season. Sophomore setter Krystal Anda (Huber Heights, OH / Wayne) tallied 16 assists.

Senior libero Sydney Herzer (Huber Heights, OH / Wayne) recorded a team-high 24 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Mackenzie Kerkan (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) had 19 digs.

Senior outside hitter Mackenzie Jeric (Salem, OH / Salem) posted 12 kills and a .345 hit percentage. The 12 kills ties her season-high which she hit just two games prior.

As a unit, the Redhawks posted a .205 hitting percentage, their second best percentage in a game this season.
