HAMBURG, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's volleyball team competed in a tri-match at Hilbert College on Saturday. The Wildcats played both Hilbert and Elmira. The Wildcats lost the first match with Hilbert 3-2 before losing to Elmira 3-0.

In the Hilbert match, the Hawks took the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-18. The Wildcats refused to give in however, winning the third set 29-27 and the fourth set 25-20, before dropping the fifth set 15-10. Jason Aubrey (11)  and Peter Gottler (12)  led the Wildcats in kills, while Nathan Farnham (31) and Joshua Slater (14) led the Wildcats in assists.

In the Elmira match, the Wildcats fought hard but were able to take a set from the Soaring Eagles. Elmira would sweep the Wildcats, winning the sets 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21. Jason Aubrey (8) and Jordan Weir (6) led the Wildcats in kills, while James Mion (4) and Peter Gottler (3) led the Wildcats in blocks.

The Wildcats will be back on Wednesday, February 1st for an away match at Wells College. The match is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM.
