Redhawks Drop Road Contest at Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. - The La Roche men's soccer team lost in an AMCC matchup Tuesday evening on the road against Penn St. Altoona by a final score of 2-1. The Redhawks are now 1-8 overall this season and 1-3 in conference play. PSA improved their overall record to 9-4 (3-2).

The Lions struck first in the 16th minute of the match when Ciaran Corr scored on a penalty shot. Corr struck again in the 47th minute in the second half. He scored on a hard shot from 18 yards out after the ball ricochet off the post. Corr ranks 3rd in the AMCC this season with 11 goals so far.

Junior forward Jake Gorman (Ambridge, PA / Ambridge) kept the Redhawks hopes alive when he scored his fifth goal of the season of an assist from junior forward Ryan Truax (Chicora, PA / Karns City) in the 89th minute of the match. Gorman beat the keeper from 10 yards out off a feed from Truax. Gorman leads the team and is tied for 6th in the AMCC with 5 goals this season.

Junior Casey Hulbert (Montour, PA/Montour) made his second appearance in net and played his first full game in goal for the Redhawks. Hulbert played all 90 minutes, made two saves and allowed two goals.

Altoona out-shot LRU 25-10 and 4-2 in shots on goal.
