Pioneers Down Penn.- St. Behrend

The Alfred State Men's Basketball team traveled to Penn.- St. Behrend and won 72-66.

A double digit scoring first half from Cody Schneider (Belmont, NY / Genesee Valley ) helped the Pioneers take a lead early, and hold it heading into the locker room. Schneider had 11 points, two steals and two blocks in the first half.

The Blue and Gold kept control of the lead all game long. They never trailed Behrend and only allowed a tie three times. Alfred State led by as many as 12 points in the game. The team went 14-15 from the line, proving important in the late stages when the Lions cut into the Alfred lead going into the final minutes. With the Pioneers up four, Dylan Perry (Kingston, NY / Kingston) hit a three-point jumper with less than two minutes remaining, putting the game away. Another made three by Isaiah Kostyal-Larrier (Poughkeepsie, NY / Arlington) extended the Alfred lead even further. Made free-throws by Paris Jamison (Brooklyn, NY / East Side) put the game on ice as the clock expired with the Pioneers on top.

Dylan Perry had 14 points with 5 rebounds and 3 assists in the game. Cody Schneider led Alfred in points with 21. Schneider also had 6 rebounds and 2 steals on the night. Kostyal-Larrier was the last Pioneer in double figures with 13 points, he went 3-6 from deep.

The Pioneers play again on the road. They travel to Pitt.- Greensburg on Saturday, January 28.
