The Pioneer Volleyball team lost against Houghton University 0-3 in a tough matchup at the Nielsen Center in Houghton, New York.
Racquel Gerstenberger led the way for Alfred State with ten kills in the match while also having 13 digs, coming off an AMCC Player of the Week recognition, she continues her stellar play leading the leading the Alfred State team. Alexa Perez had an impressive evening, contributing 28 assists which becomes her new career-high.
The Pioneers fought well in all three sets, losing the first by five, ending the second set within two points, and ending the night with a 17-25 loss.
The Volleyball team will begin a busy weekend this Friday, September 9 against Hilbert in a tournament hosted by SUNY Canton. The match is set for a 5 p.m. start.
