ERIE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the 2014-15 season Wednesday, falling to the Penn State Behrend Lions 74-63 at the Junker Center in Erie, Pa.
Josh Johnson (Monroeville, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) led the Tomcats with 18 points, 10 of which he recorded in a perfect game at the charity stripe.
Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. Mcdonough) scored 12 points for the Tomcats while
Eric Mallinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.
Wes Davis notched a double-double for the Lions with 19 rebounds and 18 points. Zane Hackett also scored 20 points for PSU Behrend while Nick DeLisio notched 14 points.
The Tomcats (2-1) will play their home opener Saturday when they take on the Allegheny Gators at 2 p.m.
