Lions Tennis Dropped 8-1 by Greensburg

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis lost 8-1 on Sunday afternoon to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg at The Summit Tennis and Athletic Club.

Pitt-Greensburg (3-2, 3-1 AMCC) swept doubles play, then won five out of six in singles to nab the seven-point win in the match.

Penn State Altoona (1-3, 1-3 AMCC) picked up its lone point in No. 2 singles, where Ben Maus (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) pulled out a 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 11-9 victory over his opponent. It was Maus' second singles win of the season, tying him for the team-high total.

With Sunday's match under their belts, the Penn State Altoona men's tennis team will now break for winter and resume its schedule on Thursday, February 27. That day, the Lions are slated to host non-conference opponent Juniata College at 4:30 p.m.

Notes: Sunday's match was Senior Day for the Penn State Altoona men's tennis program, and senior player Andrew Ung (Upper Chichester, PA/Chichester) was recognized for his status as a senior tennis player.
