Women’s Tennis Swept at Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Penn State Altoona women's tennis was defeated 9-0 by defending Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference champion Franciscan University on Thursday night at the Belleview Courts.

Franciscan (1-2, 1-0 AMCC) won the three doubles matches by scores of 8-3, 8-5, and 8-1. The Lady Barons went on to sweep singles play, winning each of the six matches over Penn State Altoona (1-4, 1-2 AMCC).

Lady Lions' tennis will hold its home opener in its next match, which will occur on Saturday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. against nearby AMCC opponent Mount Aloysius College at the Adler Tennis Courts.

Notes: The Penn State Altoona women's tennis home match against La Roche University, which was scheduled for Friday, September 13, has been postponed. The match will be made up at a later, to-be-determined date.
