Baseball Celebrated Seniors in Loss to Keuka

LEWISTON, N.Y. – The Hilbert College baseball team got to celebrate a Senior Day game after all today when the Hawks hosted Keuka College in a final 9-inning non-conference game of the 2017 season.

Prior to the first pitch, seniors Michael Best, Anthony Wurstner, Kevin Moore, Dalton Reynolds, Michael Voveris and Ryan Bonafede were recognized for their efforts wearing royal and white on the diamond.

Keuka, after trailing 3-0 to start the second inning, hit their way to a 22-6 victory as they push towards their NEAC play-off run this weekend.

Ryan Bonafede's RBI single notched his 150 career hit.  He closed his four-year career with 152 total (#2 in Hawks record book) when he poked his 16th double of the season.

Kevin Moore went 4-for-4 and knocked in two runs, while stealing one base and scoring one run in his final game.

Junior Eric Flores opened the game with a three-run homer over the left center fence with gave Hilbert a 3-0 lead by the top of the 2nd inning.

Hilbert maintained the upper-hand  in the second inning and played to a 4-3 lead by the top of the fourth. Keuka then posted 10 runs before the bottom of the fifth, putting the game out of reach 13-4.

Hilbert closed the season at 8-24 overall and 1-15 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
