HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Hilbert women's basketball team improved to 14-3 in league standings after they earned a 72-53 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory against D'Youville College tonight.

Before the game started, the Hawks honored and celebrated the brave women in their lives who have fought and lost as well as those who continue to battle and serve as inspirations to their families and communities.

Katelyn Proy had a monster game on the hardwood leading all scorers with a career-high 27 points, nine rebounds, six blocks, and four assists.  Proy made 12-of-15 shots from the floor and pulled down five offensive rebounds helping Hilbert extend their lead late in the game.

Emily Gawlak hit 5-of-7 from downtown while netting 22 points. Additionally she grabbed eight defensive boards and dished three assists insuring the women's basketball team a series sweep against the Spartans in Buffalo Cup action this winter..

Demi Battin found her range canning 50% of her field goal attempts while matching Gawlak with three assists.

Hilbert built a 48-39 edge on the glass, finished the game with eight blocks, as Taylor Corts (three assists) collected the two other stops.

The Hawks limited D'Youville to 29.9 percent shooting for the game and forced 13 turnovers. 

Hilbert built an 18-12 lead after ten minutes while D'Youville battled in the second quarter outscoring the Hawks 16-15.

The hosts extended their 33-28 half time thanks to a 21-15 third session offensive effort.  As the game wound down, the White and Royal put another win in the books with a 18-10 margin.
