BUFFALO, N.Y. – Junior Ryan Bradt posted 18 points to lead a balanced Hawk effort as the Hilbert College men's basketball team beat D'Youville 88-68 tonight. Hilbert stayed perfect and extended its winning streak to seven games while they dropped D'Youville to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in league play.

Ryan Bradt went 8-for-11 from the field and made half his four free throw attempts in 18 minutes of action off the bench.  He outscored Jerame Owens and Jordan Kumro who each produced 17 points in different ways.  Owens shot just a little under 50% from the floor inside the arc and Kumro fared better from the field, hitting five of his six buckets from beyond the three-point line.

Trevor Stark matched Kumro's 6-for-11 shooting for 16 points and distributed eight more assists.  Sean Weisansal continues to be a great shooter for the Hawks hitting 50% of his shots finding 12 points while he passed out five assists.

Jerame Owens also earned game-high rebounding honors with 13 caroms.

D'Youville's Julian Reed connected on 12 of 16 attempts, hitting one three-pointer, for 25 points as the only Spartan to reach double-digits.

Hilbert spotted the hosts four points before Stark canned a 3-point shot at 18:09.  Jerame Owens knotted the game at 8-all by 13:40 but it wasn't until Sean Weisansal hit a lay-up almost two minutes later, that Hilbert took their first lead.  Both teams traded hoops the rest of the way until D'Youville closed the half with back-to-back treys to take a 35-30 lead.

Bradt and Weisansal were scoring leaders with eight points each by intermission.  D'Youville held a 48% to 35.7% shooting advantage.  Crazy stat of the half was Hilbert's 1-for-12 shooting from the three-point line.

The second half showed why Hilbert currently holds a 7-0 record.  The Hawks made 22 of 39 shots, sinking six of 12 three-pointers.  Jordan Kumro and Julian Reed were in a shooting competition as both connected for 17 second-half points.

Trevor Stark gave Hilbert their first lead which was short lived early in the second period.  Ryan Bradt's score in the paint started the Hawks run which ultimately put the game away.  With seven minutes remaining, the Hawks took their first double-digit lead and stretched it to 20 points by the final horn.

Hilbert returns to the hardwood a few days after Christmas as they will prepare for their rescheduled Tip-Off Tournament moved to January 3 and 4, 2015.  The Hawks welcome John Carroll University, Nazareth College and SUNY Potsdam for the kick-off to the second semester of play.
