GREENVILLE, Pa. –  Ryan Schupp scored his first collegiate goal tonight as the Hilbert College men's soccer team suffered a 7-1 loss at Thiel College. 

Hilbert was credited with 15 shots while Thiel finished with 16.  The difference in the game was the nine Tomcats shots on goal compared to Hilbert's three.  Both teams closed the game with two saves. 

Ryan Valentine went almost 69 minutes between the pipes, making one save while rookie Nicholas Margerum closed the final 21 minutes and gave up goal paired with one save.

Thiel took a 2-0 lead to the break and added two more tallies before Austin Mathis set up Ryan Schupp for Hilbert's only goal.

The Tomcats netted twice less than 120 seconds apart by 65:59 and found their final marker off a rebound shot following a corner kick in the 85th minute.

Anthony Pellicano, Matthew Barth and Jonathan Davison led the Hawks offense with three shots each.

Hilbert (1-3) returns to action this weekend when they travel to St. Vincent College for a 3 pm game.
