ALFRED, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team closed their 2017 season after a 3-1 road loss at Alfred State tonight. 

The Hawks raced to a 25-23 opening set victory before they suffered three straight set losses (25-15, 25-13, 25-21) and fell to 1-23 for the year.

As a team, the Hawks earned 11 kills (-.038), three solo blocks, 10 block assists and 50 digs.  They also gave the Pioneers 17 points from receiving errors, 14 from attack errors and six from service errors.

Alfred State had two players post 19 and 20 kills each as the Pioneers improved to 11-16.

Hilbert's Ashley Repine finished with nine kills and 13 digs along with two block assists. 

Natassia West was a dominating presence at the net collecting a pair of solo blocks and three block assists.

Torianna LeWand was credited with nine assists and 11 digs as well as two service aces.

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) First Round play-off pairings are set.  #4 La Roche College is hosting #5 D'Youville College while seed #3 Penn State Behrend will be hosting #6 Mt. Aloysius Wednesday, November 1.

 #1 Penn State Altoona (7-2) and #2 Pitt-Bradford (7-2) earned a pass directly to the Championship Weekend which will be hosted by Altoona.  The Semifinal games will be played  Saturday,  November 4 with the championship game to follow the next day.

Hilbert, at 0-9, finished the season in 10th place.
