Erie, PA- The Alfred State Men's Basketball team fell short to Penn State Behrend 74-51 to snap their three-game win streak. The Pioneers fall to 8-8 overall and 6-3 in conference play
The reigning AMCC Player of the Week led the way with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Paris Jamison added 12 points.
Dylan Perry got the game started with a jumper. Schneider and Ryan Rosa put in layups to cut the Lions lead to 7-6. A few possessions later, Zachary Gilebarto made in a 20-19 game with a three. Then back-to-back layups from Jamison and Jacob Gonzalez gave the Pios a 23-20 lead. The Lions went on a 15-2 run to end the half leading 35-25.
The Lions outscored the Pioneers 39-26 in the second half. Schneider opened the second half with a pair of free throws for the Pioneers. The Lions continued their late first half run and their timely shot making prevailed them past the Pioneers, 74-51.
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday January 20th as they host the Redhawks of La Roche.
