Hawks Fall at the Geneseo Invitational

Box Score 2 GENESEO, N.Y. - The Hilbert College women's volleyball team traveled to Geneseo to compete on day two only of the Geneseo Invite. The Hawks faced two SUNYAC teams and came up empty after they dropped two, straight-set losses to Oswego and Geneseo September 20.
In the opening game against Oswego (25-16, 25-19, 25-17), the Hawks weren't able to keep the same offensive pace as the Lakers who finished with 34 kills. Hilbert tallied 20 team kills and
Kayla Lewis recorded a game-high 16 assists.
Olivia Tom had a team-high 11 digs and
Crystal Swanson served four aces in the game.
Jordan Botsford added eight kills and two service aces.
In the second game, the Hawks struggled in all three sets against Geneseo, with
25-16 posted as the closest score. In the three sets (25-16, 25-10, 25-10), Botsford led Hilbert with six kills and two service aces, while Lewis had an all-around game with five kills, a team-high nine assists, and 11 digs.
Kaitlyn Murphy contributed 10 digs. Geneseo had 37 kills compared to Hilbert's 14 kills.
The Hawks (2-10) travel back home to the Hafner Recreation Center where they face the College at Brockport, another SUNYAC team, Monday, September 22 at 7pm.
