Big Three Lifts Pioneers to Win at Keuka

My'ana Davis (Greece Athena), Skylar Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca), and Emily Kelley (Andover) led the way as Alfred State defeated Keuka 67-54 to earn win number three of the season.

The game was knotted up at 11-11 after the first quarter and ASC took a 27-24 lead into the halftime break. Keuka built a 38-31 lead with 5:58 left in the 3rd but Alfred State ended the quarter on a 11-0 run to grab a lead they would never give back up. They led by one, 48-47, with 5:05 left in the game and finished the game on a 19-7 run to seal the victory. The game featured three ties and 11 lead changes. 

Davis scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the 4th quarter. Shaulis finished with 19 points and 18 rebounds while Kelley had 10 points and 14 boards. Savannah Ambuski (Canisteo Greenwood) came off the bench and had six points and nine rebounds.

Lauren Hill led Keuka with 16 points and nine rebounds while Sydney Brown came off the bench and finished with 14.

Alfred State was 27 for 78 from the field and 11 for 17, including 7 for 12 in the 4th quarter, from the foul line. Keuka was 19 for 76 from the field and 12 for 53 from three. The Pioneers forced the Wolves into 18 turnovers.

The Pioneers open up AMCC play on Sunday when they host Penn State Altoona at 2 p.m.
