Lions Lose 3-0 to Bradford

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's soccer dropped Saturday afternoon's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest with Pitt-Bradford by a final of 3-0 at Spring Run Stadium.

Pitt-Bradford (2-9, 1-2 AMCC) got two goals from Chase Rider in the win.

Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) made five saves in goal for Penn State Altoona (1-8, 1-2 AMCC). Erikson Miguel (Luanda, Angola/Semente do Saber) had a team-high five shots, including one shot on goal. Emerson Mendes (Luanda, Angola/Luanda) took a total of four shots.

Pitt-Bradford made it 1-0 at 17:29 when, after a flurry of activity in front of the goal, Dakotah Graham sent the ball in front of the goal mouth, where Rider was there to tap it in to the open net.

The visitors extended their lead with two second half goals.

The Panthers made it 2-0 at 62:59, when Ryuta Hayakawa feathered a pass through the Lions' defense to Rider in the box, who sent a shot past the keeper's left. Pitt-Bradford upped its lead to 3-0 at 78:39 when a deflection came right to T.J. Magro near the top of the box, and Magro shot the ball into the goal.

Penn State Altoona ended the game with a 21-14 advantage over Pitt-Bradford in shots taken, while the visiting Panthers finished with an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Penn State Altoona posted a 4-0 lead in corner kicks.

Next, Penn State Altoona men's soccer will face nearby AMCC opponent Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, October 3 at 8:00 p.m. in Cresson.
