CRESSON, Pa. – Hilbert College suffered a 3-0 defeat to Mt. Aloysius College in their 7th Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match today.
The Mounties (12-15) stayed alive with post-season play-off hopes as they continue to sit in a three-way tie for 4th place in the AMCC with a 4-3 record.
The Hawks (1-20, 0-7) dropped straight sets (25-4, 25-11, 25-7) on the road.
Hilbert posted seven kills (seven hitting errors) in 65 attempts. The Hawks collected 42 digs and four solo blocks in the loss. Additionally, the hosts knocked off 13 service aces against the Hawks.
Mt. Aloysius earned 38 kills and only four hitting errors, which must have resulted from the four Hilbert blocks.
Torianna LeWand led with three kills and three assists.
Ashley Repine finished with a pair of solo blocks and one service ace while
Sierra McLaughlin and
Sara Trzepkowski added nine and eight digs, respectively.
Hilbert has two additional AMCC games and one non-conference match on their 2017 season schedule. The Hawks will host D'Youville College in a Buffalo Cup contest October 25 in Hamburg before they travel back to Altoona, Pa. next weekend. Hilbert finishes their season with a road game at Alfred State College October 31.
